The Annexe at Claycott is under new ownership - and bookings are now open!

I'm delighted to announce that The Annexe at Claycott is under new ownership and, following a short break, is now available for holiday bookings until September 2025.
Patrick and I purchased Claycott from Jacquie and Steve Willoughby in July last year, and we are very much looking forward to continuing their legacy of hosting guests in our lovely village of Abbotsham in the months and years to come.
To tell you a little about ourselves: I'm a journalist/writer, currently on maternity leave following the birth of our second child, while Patrick is a property developer who works between London and Devon. We have two young daughters - Ida, aged five weeks (attached to me as I write this!), and Frankie, aged two - plus an unfulfilled hankering for a dog.
We chose to move to Abbotsham from London last year to pursue a slower pace of life, and to give Ida and Frankie the active, outdoorsy upbringing we both dreamt about as kids. We absolutely love it here, and spend our weekends swimming, surfing, cycling, running and enjoying long blustery walks along the coast. While we haven't lived in North Devon for long, we are getting to know it better every day and would be delighted to provide tips and advice to anyone keen to explore the area.
We recently carried out a light refurbishment of The Annexe, and have lots of exciting plans for the property over coming months. Our most ambitious project involves the conversion of the garage to a new games room, directly accessible from The Annexe, which should be complete by the late spring / early summer. With a pool table, table tennis table, darts board, bar and cinema-style TV for movie watching, the room should be a hit with younger guests and competitive adults alike, and make the most of those frustrating wash-out days!
We are now almost fully booked in July and August this year, but have availability in the spring and autumn. Please visit our bookings page to see our full availability and prices. We can take up to eight guests, plus a cot, and two pets per reservation. Any blog subscribers who book with us will receive a complimentary bottle of champagne upon arrival :)
