Congratulations to Joe, Oliver, Emily and Annabelle - the first guests to jump in the pool this year as everyone else watched on wrapped up in Puffa jackets and woolley hats! Once in though - that was it for the week - noone could get those water babies away from the hot tub and the pool! Fri 12th April 2013
No one was brave enough to use the pool over Easter weekend - what a bitter Easterly wind?! It is looking so lovely thisafternoon though I am planning to have a swim before work... it is brilliant when the steam mixes with the early morning mist! 3rd April 2013
My 50th birthday party in Southclay was a storming success. Now with hangover and furniture out of the way I have the perfect opportunity to spring clean and paint; to polish and reseal wooden floors and have all the carpets professionally cleaned before Feburary half term and the 2013 season gets underway. Oh yes! it will look georgous! 30th January 2013

First guests in The Annex for Easter weekend - rushed at the last minute but everything NEARLY ready! They thought it was lovely - Hooray! Two birthday cakes and Easter eggs all in one weekend was a bit much though! No disasters yet... Fri 13th April!
"THE ANNEX" is starting to look really good! Will get some photos on the website ASAP.... Will take bookings from April as an independant unit sleeping 6 in two ensuite bedrooms or in conjunction with Southclay making a total maximum of 18 guests per week! Started the Annex today. Oh dear it is going to be dusty for at least a couple of weeks - good job we have no guests staying! Making a new self contained unit at the end of our traditional Devon Longhouse which will sleep 6 in two ensuite bedrooms (2+4) with its own kitchen/diner and lovely lounge with wood burner both opening out onto a large patio and then the pool. The plan is to let it either as an individual unit or as a double unit with Southclay, increasing the maximum number of guests to 18. I can't wait, I am sure it is going to work really well... will keep you posted! 17th November 2011
What fabulous Autumn weather we have had! Bonfire party last weekend was terrific with everone outside most of the night and apple bobbing in the swimming pool! Putting the pool to bed for the winter today but really sad as the sun is still shining brightly! 8th Nov 2011
Sunburnt this weekend! Had a fabulous time sailing at Roadford and camped overnight. Who would believe swimming (no wetsuit!), sunbathing, barbequing, camping... in October!!! Thank goodness there was some summer left :-) 2nd Oct 2011
END OF AUGUST!!! We have had some lovely guests to stay this season, I can't believe it is September tomorrow, surely we can pretend there is some summer left! The sea and the pool are still lovely and warm... the weather forecast is good... (better than it has been for weeks!) Still have one week in September and two weeks in October available if anyone wants a late escape. 31st Aug 2011

Grand opening of the old lookout at Westward Ho! Joint project by The National Trust and the AOB. Great to be on the cliffs, the sea was really blue and this room certainly has a view! Then girls lunch with local councilor Murdoch and county councilor Boyle. 14th June 2011
Jazz on the Beach at Abbotsham Cliffs was a greast success and there will definitely be a repeat next yeaer although the weather made a hot cup of tea more appealing for some than a glass of refreshing Pimms! The beach clean and sculpture competition was also well supported with a trailor full of rubbish taken up the hill. First changeover of the season went really well. Such nice guests last week - I think they had a great time... swam every day in the pool, walked miles of the coastal foot path and explored lots of Exmoor. Wish my teenagers still wanted to holiday with me! My turn to enjoy the pool today - coffee and sunday paper in the sun after a wake up swim is a good hangover cure! 17th April 2011

My Mum cut the grass thisafternoon for the second time this year already! MUST get mine cut... the snowdrops and crocus and even some early daffodils are starting to give a real show.
The house is booked until the end of March but can't believe we still have Easter weekend available and some dates in May and June... 10% off bookings in April for the lucky family to get a deposit to me first! 17th Feb 2011

We had a lovely few weeks of snow and ice with bright sunshine to lift any winter blues away. On Christmas Day it was so beautiful on the beach my girls had to remind me several times that we really ought to be getting home to put the turkey in the oven!
Luckily we didn't suffer like much of the country and the roads were only closed for one day.

So so so good to be back in North Devon! The sun is shining and a light frost is sparkling - no sign of the snow the rest of the country seem to be suffering, just blue skies, blue seas and a beautiful winter wonderland. At 6 degrees we are positively tropical compared to the rest ofthe country! I even went down to the cliffs yesterday with no coat! 6th Dec. 2010
