Recently refurbished and quite charming, The Annex is proving to be a popular addition to our portfolio. It can be booked independently from Southclay as a stand alone unit with separate access and own hot tub... sharing the tennis court and pool or in conjunction with Southclay to increase the total number of guests accommodated.

To create a welcoming and memorable holiday home, the owners, Jacquie and Steve, have used their experience of welcoming guests for over 10 years to create a cottage which exceeds their visitors expectations. Many thoughtful extras and considerate little touches make a fabulous place to unwind with family or friends or to escape for a romantic break with someone special.

Awarded 5 stars by Quality in Tourism, the assessment service for Visit England, this cottage simply oozes quality and charm.

 

Annex end of the traditional Devon long-house

The Annex is everything you could wish for in a perfect holiday cottage in the country! With off-road parking, the property can be accessed from the Southclay forecourt or via the adjacent access, from the Owner's side, known as Claycott.

It is one end of a traditional Devon longhouse. (The owners live in the other end) It has thick stone walls with slate roof and a rose growing around the door. Once the end of the farmhouse where the animals were housed, it has been refurbished to a high standard, and well equipped to sleep 4(+2+cot) in two en-suite bedrooms. A twin or a superking-size double downstairs (can be arranged to suit) with a fabulous wet-room/bathroom and upstairs, a huge king-size double room with aditional two single beds which is suitable for another couple or to use as a family room with en-suite shower room.

There is a fully fitted kitchen/diner with all the modern facilities and appliances you would expect (and more!) and a delightful lounge with a cosy woodburner for any cooler evenings. Both the lounge and the kitchen/diner are double aspect, catching both the morning and evening sun. They have big glass doors onto the patio by the pool where there is a delightful suntrap, paved with huge old slate flagstones. This has seating for 6 and can be used as a dining area with a gas barbecue provided. This is also where the large Annex hot tub is located. There is nothing healthier than a dose of fresh sea air, winding down towards the end of the day in the hot tub, watch the sun go down or to simply star gaze and you will be well on your way to the best night's sleep ever! 

The Annex is delightful Winter or Summer and will be a holiday treat you will return to year after year and join the guests who we really look forward to welcoming back regularly.

 

NOTE: There are some steps on the groundfloor of The Annex (one between the kitchen and lounge and a small step into the bathroom) which may make it unsuitable for people with limited mobility despite having a downstairs bedroom and bathroom. if you would like further advice, please do get in touch

The Annex can be rented individually as a completely independant unit or in conjunction with Southclay with a door in the end of The Annex linking the two properties accross the Southclay forecourt enabling the maximum number of guests accommodated to increase to 16.

"Very luxurious and comfortable with lots of facilities on site (pool/snooker table, tennis court, swimming pool). Owner very friendly and approachable. Property situated in lovely village with post office, pub, play park, high ropes course and adventure centre all within a couple of minutes.
